I believe in providing a well rounded education for you or your child. My approach entails a 50/50 split between doing the hard work necessary to excel and learning to enjoy music. Therefore, their will be and allotment of standard scales, chords, sight-reading and music theory education. My experience with learning was fun. Since I was learning multiple instruments it was fun to tie everything together. I could say the best part while learning was understanding theory...that part of my learning opened up many doors for me musically. I consider myself resourceful to a voice student of any genre for building up good and healthy vocal techniques. I usually suggest repertoire to a student based on their level and/ or Voice type but I am also delighted to help a student with a repertoire of their own choice. At the end of the day, I want my students to enjoy what they sing. I encourage them to put themselves out there to go for competitions or holding their own recitals. Read More

Music is an amazing tool for expressing emotions. Therefore, the process of learning an instrument, in my opinion, should not be an emotionless, never changing process. If a student is feeling sad on the day of a lesson, why should I expect them to play a happy tune? If they are excited, why should I limit them to a slow sonata? I believe music is best experienced in the moment, playing what you feel, and as those moments gain more consistency, then more of a focus can be put on long-term goals. Read More
