I started teaching voice while at Millikin University. My first job teaching upon graduating was at the Schaumburg Academy of Music, where I taught children through adults. Other schools I taught at include Dancenter North in Libertyville, and Montessori of Hoffman Estates. My methods are based in Suzuki as I am a strong believer that students musical capabilities can be developed regardless of their musical predispositions. For beginning students that have minimal background musical knowledge, I incorporate theory and aural skill trailing into the lessons to help the students learn to read their music and apply the theoretical and technical concepts learned in each class to the repertoire studied. In 2010, I graduated from VanderCook College of Music with a Bachelor's in Music Education. I have played in a variety of instrumental ensembles on different instruments, from euphonium, trombone, marimba and drum-set to name a few. I am motivated to helping people accomplish their goal of learning their instrument.
