My name is Rebecca and I am a Classical/ Pop singer living in Chicago! I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts , and my Masters of Music at Loyola University New Orleans. I have sung numerous operatic roles, recitals, have appeared as the guest artist for the St.Luke's Concert Series and the Stahl Family Theater, and perform in two local New Orleans bands. In lessons, students don't only learn how to control their voices with tension free techniques, but also about the insider music industry tips and resources that are available to them.
I have sung with organizations such as the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park and New Orleans Opera Association. I have recently been cast as: Amy in Little Women, Monica in selected scenes from The Medium, the 1st Spirit in Cendrillon, and La Princesse in L’enfant et les sortilèges. As a recitalist, I have been the guest artist for the Stahl Family Theater, featured as the soprano soloist with the Lutheran Cantata Choir in the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Concert Series, and the CCPA Guitar Ensemble. My academic endeavors include primary research on Marta Gentilucci conducted with Eastman School of Music at IRCAM in Paris, France. Rebecca will be continuing her research on Post-Spectralist vocal practices along with performing new works by living composers at the N.E.O. Voice Festival next summer. I have also premiered works by composers such as Scott Havener and Nicolas Turnbrrez. I also am in two local bands in which I play keyboard and sing vocals. I have a few years experience teaching all levels and ages of voice students and all ages of beginner piano students. I also have experience teaching online and in person group lessons for both subjects as well as music theory and language skills for singers.
In singing lessons students learn vocal techniques, musicianship skills, performance skills, and songs of their choice. Music games are played with younger students. Piano students. Piano lessons consist of technique such as scales chords arpeggios etc, repertoire, and music theory! I'm also open to working on songwriting, improvisation etc. I start beginner piano students off with Piano Adventures Primer Level along with A Dozen a Day for technique. My teaching style is relaxed and easy going. This is because I try my best to cater to my student's needs. My goal when teaching a student is to be a resource to help them reach their full musical potential. This can be done by setting realistic goals, practice routines and using tension free techniques. I also try my best when teaching to give my students a safe space where they can feel free to grow, create, and express. This way students can incorporate music in their lives. If you have any questions feel free to contact me!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
