When I attended the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA for high school, I realized that music and singing would be my career path for life. This way, the student will understand how to produce a big sound without straining. Breathing exercises such as 'underwater noises' and 'tornado siren' are fun and keep the mood open and lively. In lessons I have taught, I find that letting a student feel free to explore every facet of their voice is key, as exploration leads to breakthroughs! I was hooked and for my Girl Scout Gold Award in high school, I ran a theater company for children of social service recipients.
