Overview:
I'm an enthusiastic musician that believes in working hard while still having fun. I graduated from Carroll University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Liberal Arts, and have performed as principal flute for an international music project between Carroll University, Marquette, UW Milwaukee, and multiple Italian conservatories all throughout Italy, Germany, and Austria. I am also involved in the Kenosha and Waukesha communities as a member of both the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band and the Kenosha Chamber Choir. My favorite part about music has always been being able to work with many other people that love the same things as I do. I have taught lessons to students throughout my college years to help them discover this passion as well, and I hope to continue this throughout the community!
EXPERIENCE
I have taught multiple beginning flute and voice students throughout my college career, as well as assisting the music students at Rolling Hills Elementary School in Mukwonago with their head start program. I wish to continue on into graduate school for Music Therapy, and for this reason, I also have experience working with both adolescence and adults that have developmental disabilities. I believe that music can be enjoyed by people of all different ages and experience levels, and I hope to work with students like these that are eager to learn.
METHODS USED
For beginning musicians, I like to start with the very fundamentals of music theory in order to get them comfortable with reading music and understanding what they are doing. Books I have used in the past include the Essential Elements series and the Melodious and Progressive Etude series. I also understand the importance of enjoying what one is playing, so I always urge students find pieces or books for themselves that they are interested in, and incorporate them into my lessons. For voice students, I focus more on developing technique and healthy habits, as well as standard repertoire like the 26 Italian Songs and Arias.
LESSON STYLE
I always figure out where a student is at, and prefer to grow off the student's strengths as opposed to harping on their weaknesses. I have been in lessons before where teachers couldn't get past the smallest details, and these ruined the experience for me, as well as greatly affected what I was able to accomplish in my lessons. The opposite is also true, in that I have had teachers that haven't even informed me of a weakness that I had, and I wasn't able to improve because of it. While it is important to work on weaknesses, these are things that will also gradually improve over time, and if the student is properly informed and wants to work on these weaknesses, I would be sure to help them.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
