I believe that each student has something unique to bring to the table, and that students should feel that they are valued because of their cultural identities, not in spite of them. I also believe that music in itself can be used as a means through which the world can be impacted for good. Bringing students to a positive outlet such as this, can bring about passion within themselves, for both music and other issues in the world, music being the way they express this passion and use it to send a message. At this point in time I've been blessed with the opportunities to teach in both private one-on-one tutoring settings as well as with large groups of children through volunteering, student teaching and substitute teaching. It was through the summation of these experiences that I predicted- and have ultimately discovered- that I love being a music educator. The height of what fulfills me about being a music educator is the essence of the work: Exploration and nurturing for both the student and the teacher. Read More

Every person is different and I take that to heart constructing a lesson plan for each student that is suited for their personal tastes and speed. I have taught people of various ages starting at 5 years old all the way up to 60. It just goes to show you are never really done learning, especially when it comes to music. I have developed my ear to a point in which most any music you play me, especially if it's guitar based, I can learn to play in a matter of seconds or a few short minutes if it's something really tricky. My experience as an educator began when I was a junior in High School, where I fast gained a reputation as an exceptional guitarist/singer. During this time, a few of my friends and classmates asked me if I would teach them. Since then, I have been teaching non-stop out of my residence and other creditable music stores. From 2008-2010, I taught out of Avenue N. Guitars, while keeping my own private students. Read More

My Teaching Style can be summarised in one sentence - "Progress over Perfection." I believe that the journey is just as important and enjoyable as the destination itself and every student has their own journey and their own destination. My goal as a Voice Teacher is to guide and keep them on track in attaining their musical goals and to aid in whatever way possible. A student's satisfaction, the joy of learning, health (not just vocal health but also psychological) holds the highest importance to me as a Teacher. Read More

I am not a teacher of "cookie cutter" lessons. I like to consult with parents and students before preparing an individually-tailored lesson plan for each of my students. It's my goal to engage students through music they already love, and (at the same time) introduce them to new music ideas and musical concepts/challenges. Building early repoire between teacher and student is crucial to building a working knowledge for performing music later on. Read More
