Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. As every student has different needs I dont have a specific plan that I follow. Rather I like to adapt my lesson plans to each individual students goals and playing ability. I always have my students work on a mixture of technique, etudes, and solo repertoire. For very early beginners I like to work out of Trever Wyes Very First Flute Book and his Beginners Book for the Flute. I have played the flute for many years, and have instucted students for close to 16 years. Starting out with simple exercises and building upon a basic foundation are key. Students are encouraged to perform in recitals when they are ready. Young students new to the flute should be mature enough to stick to a regular schedule and practice at least 15-20 minutes a day.
