As every student has different needs I dont have a specific plan that I follow. Rather I like to adapt my lesson plans to each individual students goals and playing ability. I always have my students work on a mixture of technique, etudes, and solo repertoire. For very early beginners I like to work out of Trever Wyes Very First Flute Book and his Beginners Book for the Flute. I have over 15 years experience teaching privately as well as teaching band and orchestra in public schools. At one time I taught thirty-eight, half hour band and orchestra sessions every week. This included private Jazz ensembles and orchestra—all at the Elementary level. I also worked as a School Aged Child Care Leader at Sandburg Elementary School from 2015 to 2018, further honing my skills in working with children ages 5 to 11. In 2019, I attended Marrowstone Music Festival as a Fellow. This gave me the opportunity to mentor high school and undergraduate flutists individually and during sectionals and to coach a student wind quintet. For beginning students who are children, I often use the Andrew Scott Method for flute. When the student is considerably advance I will use the Rubank Book for flute begginers. Once the student is at a comfortable level, I will proceed to introduce him to Body Mapping. My passion for teaching began in my Junior year of high school in 2011-2012, when I spent 6 months teaching guitar lessons to elementary school students at a local YMCA after-school program. With a class size of approximately 10-15 students, I learned many valuable teaching methods for students of all backgrounds and learning methods. Later that year, I said goodbye to my students to move to Boston and attend Berklee College of Music, however, in summer of 2014, I revived my passion for teaching when I started a saxophone lesson program at Brighton's All 'Bout Christ church. In fall of 2022 I traveled to Vienna, Austria to study flute performance, chamber music, and composition. I was a finalist in the International Music Competition and a Platinum Awardee in the Beethoven Music Competition. I have also had the great privilege of performing at the La Melodieuse festival with composer Yuko Uebayashi and flutist Carol Wincenc.
