My style is ambitious and positive! I want my students to realize the gifts they have, and I will support them in their journey to playing and sharing music; whether it be for the elementary school play, or for a professional track...or simply for pure enjoyment and personal growth! I do not wish to limit student to a specific style. Rather, I am here to steer people towards healthy, strong, and technically sound singing, (through physically supported breathing and mindful approaches to tone quality and song choices!) as well as solid knowledge base and empowering piano skills, The potential is limitless! The method of teaching is as follows: 1) assess where the student is in music and in life, 2) ask about goals in music, 3) formulate objective to reach those goals, 4) rethink things when needed (students aren't cookies, so I can't use a cookie cutter). I do focus on things in order though. If you don't know your fundamentals, then that's where we start no matter what. After learning fundamentals, however, we can begin to pick and choose the battles and wars. Read More

I started voice lessons the year before I went to college. I always loved music and singing, no matter the genre. I fell in love with opera shortly after starting at Westminster and found my passion in performing the classical art form. I have been fortunate in that I have always been surrounded by amazing teachers who were passionate and driven. They always pushed me past what I thought I was capable of and guided me along the way. I believe music should be fun and the process of studying it should be fun. But like everything else, it has challenges, and I think the fun part should be finding solutions to those challenges. I will give them fun exercises and I will give them questions to think about. I'm also quite patient if the student doesn't get something, and I will use different ways to explain it until they can fully understand. Read More
