I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Furman University in Greenville, SC and received my Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University in Boston, MA. I'm a certified music educator in the state of South Carolina and Massachusetts. For beginning students, I start teaching fundamentals through the Rubank Essential Elements book. As students move toward intermediate-advanced levels I introduce the Jeanne Baxtresser book of Orchestral Excerpts and the Taffanel-Gaubert book for technique. I bring in a piece each lesson for sight-reading practice to encourage students to read music on their toes. Additionally, through practicing scales, students learn music theory and notation. At the end of each lesson, I give students a musical goal for their next lesson to motivate active participation in their learning process. Read More

Since 1999 he has attended a multitude of summer festivals and institute, International Academia E’ete de Nice, Domaine Forget, Texas Music Festival, North Carolina International Music Program touring France and Italy. In addition to active flutist, he has also served as arts administrator in several summer festivals, The Festival Institute at Round Top (2003), Spoleto Festival USA (2004), and Marlboro Music Festival (2005~). Since then, I have held teaching positions at various summer programs teaching music to elementary school children.
