I began teaching 7 years ago in high school and I have continually taught students of all ages since. As a flutist trained with teachers in jazz, classical, and pop, I am experienced playing and teaching many styles including classical, opera, swing, pop, and musicals. Along with the flute, I hope students will also learn music theory, orchestration, and singing. By giving students a holistic musical education, I facilitate a rewarding experience for students. I start of my lessons by asking how much the student practiced for the week. Then I ask them if there was anything that was confusing for them so we can work on that first. I let the student pick what they want to start with first and then I will pick the next exercise. Graduated with bachelor’s degree of Music from Musashino Academia Musicae and received his Artist Diploma from Toho Gakuen School of Music both in his native country, Japan. He taught the flute at the Yamaha Music Foundation for eight years before he came to study in Boston. Yuji graduated from the Boston Conservatory, studied with former principal flute of the Boston Pops Orchestra, Marianne Gedigian in 2001, and then continued to study with Kathryn Lukas in Indiana University.
