I have had a love a music for as long as I can remember. My mom used to play in her community band when she was pregnant with me. In 2013, I graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor's degree in music performance, primarily in Trumpet and Bass Guitar. While in High School, I performed in every Ensemble I possibly could, which includes Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Read More

I began teaching in college and focused on motivating younger players to continue to exploring the instrument. I noticed early on that so many young students would stop showing up to lesson after just a few weeks. My goal has always been to expose every student to the potential their instrument has. I believe it is important to find what the students are fascinated with musically and build confidence and skill from that point. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically like to start with a "call and response/listen and play" approach that involves me playing short rhythmic ideas and having the student play them back. It keeps the student engaged and having fun and leaves them wanting to play the instrument. I strongly believe in recreational lessons for the young beginning student! I then do more "by the book" instruction as the student matures and becomes more interested in the inner workings of drumming and music. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I have been teaching for 7 years and under those years I have taught first timers and more advanced players and helped players get better at drums. I first started teaching friends kids and it grew from there and more people asked for lessons and I made more time for it and really feel in love with teaching. After this time teaching I feel I have a better grasp of what tools a student needs to get better at drums and how to get straight to the problem and fix them. Read More
