The best thing in teaching is to see your students develop a passion for music, I cannot wait to do that and see the result. Be able to transmit your knowledge to someone that love it as same as you is just incredible !! As my teachers taught me, it's really important that each student progresses at his/her own pace. That is why I will begin to teach my students with the style of music, songs that they like and go from there. Read More

I applied to the Unviersity of the Arts and subsequently left the band to pursue higher education within music. I like to emphasize what good practice means and how it relates to my students' goals. I then teach larger musical concepts through the pieces of music that my student wants to learn in order to maintain motivation and interest- music is meant to be fun and enjoyable after all! I'm happy to head in whatever direction my student wants, whether thats continuing to learn songs, making thier own music, or delving more into music theory and intrumental techniques. Read More

I am relatively new at giving full time lessons, I have reached the turning point in where I feel overwhelmingly confident that I can provide complete instruction to any non professional musician. I have given lessons in the past, but I have grown immensely in regards to my being able to convey musical knowledge accurately. I am very comfortable working with students of any age group or playing level. Genre is not an issue either. Read More

Other students come to me with a specific question in mind and might was to learn some new technique they've heard about. I can explain in the simplest way the best lesson to work on, for just about anything, for any level of student, from beginner to advanced. Read More

I have a few years teaching experience and I am always excited to begin working with young students who are interested in becoming musicians themselves. I focus a lot on the technical aspects of musicianship because I believe everyone has their own feeling that they bring to music and I want to give my students the tools to be able to express themselves in their own musical way. Practice is definitely important in order for students to get familiar with the instrument and different styles and I also believe that learning different styles of music tends to help students to get better at the ones they like to play. My methods depend on both the age of the student and the experience. For example, for a beginner student who's a child I have them start working out of one or two beginner books that I like. Once they have a bit of a foundation, I start working on songs with them. Often it's a song of my choosing, but I always am always up for learning a song of my student's choosing (depending on how difficult it is of course). Read More
