Some of them have graduated from Berklee, Musician's Institute, and others just see music as a hobby and I respect and encourage them all equally. My teaching has been a massive part of my career, including private lessons, working at School of Rock for 9 years, and masterclasses in my native Venezuela and The Netherlands. Read More

I would like to use my passion and experience to lead students in becoming more confident musicians. For example, I want them to progress musically throughcommunication, guidance, practical exercises, and an understanding of music theory and proper technique. In addition, I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement. Challenges are always going to surface. When this happens, it is important to focus on the student's achievements, and build on this progression with patience and understanding. Read More

I've found the most successful drummers can read well and play all styles. For beginning students, I generally introduce 'Syncopation' by Ted Reed along with 'Stick Control,' the PASIC 40 Rudiments, 'Alfred's Drum Method' for drum set, and technical exercises. For more advanced students, I like to use books like Rick Latham's 'Advanced Funk Studies,' David Garibaldi's 'Future Sounds,' 'Portaits in Rhythm' by Anthony Cirone, and 'The Art of Bop Drumming' by John Riley.
