I've been playing music for over 10 years now and have had the opportunity to share my talent around the world. I have had the chance to study with some of the greatest drummers of our time and pass their teachings, as well as my own on to eager new students. I'm very passionate about getting across the language of drumming and music in a clear and open minded approach because I realize how important it is to keep new students interested and engaged. I have had a love a music for as long as I can remember. My mom used to play in her community band when she was pregnant with me. In 2013, I graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor's degree in music performance, primarily in Trumpet and Bass Guitar. While in High School, I performed in every Ensemble I possibly could, which includes Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Read More

Learning the drums should be a fun and rewarding experience! I believe that learning to play different styles, playing along with a metronome/song and being able to read music are essential for all drummers. I ask students what style of music/bands they like and incorporate this into lessons. I break the lessons down into 3 sections: The first is where we warm up and play rudiments and technique exercises. Read More

My teaching approach focuses on fundamentals of technique, grooves, taste, and good timekeeping. I am interested in a student becoming a good listener and being able to play a variety of musical styles. I integrate rudiments, reading, drum fills, solo ideas, improvisation, and developing a unique style. I use a variety of methods, including skills I heard as a pro drummer on stage in the studio. I make use of books and other lessons depending on the ability level of the student , but I rely on classics like "Stick Control," "Syncopation" and "Accents and Rebounds". Read More

I don't have much paid experience in teaching, however I've been helping my peers and family learn guitar since I was only 2 years into playing. Once I picked up guitar at 11 I rarely put it down, and there wasn't a longer window of a couple weeks where I wouldn't pick it up. (Even to this day). In middle school I took beginning guitar as an elective, thinking it'd be a fun easy A. Read More

Music has always been deeply involved in my life. I have played music since first grade, starting out on the piano. after dabbling with violin and other instruments, I gradually moved toward my current primary instrument. The drum set has revolutionized my understanding and love for this outstanding art form. I began playing in school bands all the way up through high school. Studying with great musicians such as Dan Robbins and Howard Stephens developed the beginning of my musicality with the drums. Read More

I teach combination of the Suzuki method and the Hungarian style (stressing the natural, comfortable, painless, tension free method). For young students, the Suzuki method is great, since the repertoire is all fun! Also the CD that comes with every level is vital! Children enjoy and benefit from that. I am an audiophile, so I can set up students with a quality hifi system on the cheap - this is so vital in Suzuki method, as he stated in his book, Nurtured With Love. Read More
