Playing and spreading music has always been my passion. I am a graduate of USC Thornton School of Music, I hold a degree in Guitar Performance. My method varies from student to student - It really depends on the students level. For a beginner student, I would focus giving the basic music foundation for violin: posture and bow hold, solid intonation and tone, and good sense of rhythm. More importantly, I teach the student to be aware of how to create a beautiful sound versus a bad sound. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Piano or Guitar Lessons for the Young Beginner by Andrew Scott and Gary Turner. The student, even at a young age, learns an introduction to music theory. Each concept is taught in a very methodical and step-by-step approach. As a teacher, I am looking to prepare students for ongoing learning for years to come. The language of music can be very confusing and I am looking for ways to minimize those perplexing times. I feel as a teacher that the students wants and needs are paramount and should be treated as such. I like to work with whatever pace they're comfortable with and do my best to accommodate them with what they may want out of drumming. Sometimes they are shy and I don't really get an answer out of them but after they become comfortable with me I get an idea of what they want to learn.
