I love setting goals for my students and helping them to succeed. My students have won seats in district and regional band and orchestra competitions, play in competitive youth symphonies, and have participated in solo and ensemble recitals. I love teaching a wide range of students from those who are just looking to play for fun to students preparing for college music entrance exams. If a student wants to work on one specific style, be it classical, jazz, or pop oriented music, I will show them the music, materials, and methods required for mastery in that subject. I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically use Blocki method or another outstanding flute teachers methodic. Usually, kids can't concentrate on something more than fifteen or twenty minutes, so I usually try to find different types of games or interesting stories about flutes, notes, etc. Also, they love to play songs from their favorite cartoons or movies. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student progress and develop as a musician! In order for students to be successful they need to be encouraged and challenged throughout their musical studies.
