I find it equally important to be able to hear the notes that one can play on their instrument just like they can see the notes they can play in the process. Some of my former students are now professional pianists. I took up the flute in 1985 in order to work with my husband, a classical guitarist, and we have been making beautiful music together. My main focus with beginning students is maintaining the fun about learning as to maintain their passion for the instrument and thus really putting the effort in.
