I graduated from Messiah College with Bachelor's degree in Music education and have taught as a certified music teacher for a year now. Mr. Mendel was my model for teaching piano as I use his method for teaching, and as such I have been teaching piano ever since at my home. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! It is important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, acknowledging accomplishments, fueling a students desire to progress, and finding ways to stimulate a students desire to learn more. I am currently teaching piano and ear training pedagogy as part of my doctoral studies at the Manhattan School of Music. I admit that I instinctively rebelled against the hypercompetitive structure of the music conservatories, and focused instead on composition.
