In order to teach my students more effectively, I decided to study classically at that time and studied with Morton Estrin, (Billy Joel's Piano Teacher) and Ross Barentine, a celebrated conductor. I have worked in schools and hospitals since my internship before graduating and now teaching in my home studio. My teaching experience dates back to my middle college years, as I began teaching private lessons part time approximately 10 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 7 years. For age 0-4, I have opened Zumbini program for those babies and their caregivers. My piano lessons start at age 4. For those beginner students, I use Piano Adventures from Faber and Faber, typically focused on lesson books, performance books and theory books. When students move on to the higher levels, I will start to introduce easy classical repertoire, such as J.S. Bach or Bergermuller. If students have specific interests or preferred genre, I will encourage to explore them and help them along the way. Read More
