I'm a saxophonist and composer. I received my masters in 2010 from Longy School of Music in modern American music. I had the opportunity to study with Charlie Banacos, Ayn Inserto, George Garzone, John Lockwood, and Bob Gullotti. My desire to teach was heavily inspired by these amazing teachers and musicians. At the age of 9, I met my first guitar teacher who taught me the importance of training your ears and how to perform the songs I learned, live on stage. Later in my teens, my second guitar teacher taught me how to read music, play with a metronome and prepared me for my college audition on guitar. I tailor my lesson to each student, everyone has a different way of learning and interpreting the crazy world of music. For beginning students we start with the basics, how to hold a pick, how to tune your guitar and basic fretting technique. From there we go into the basic fundamentals of chords and scales. I believe it is very important to prepare the mind and the body for the lesson to get the maximum benefit. In all of my lessons I begin with appropriate warm-ups before moving on to skills and technique. I use a variety of method books depending on the goals and wishes of my students, and I tailor them to make sure they are learning all the skills they need to be able to play the solos and fun music that they want to learn.
