For beginners I typically start with the Bastien or Faber Method and as their level increases I always assign pieces outside of the piano method which are generally performed at their first recital. Adults are also welcome to participate and I have them work on at least 2 contrasting pieces based on skills they may need to work on as well as something they love and enjoy learning. I do give basics importance (scales, arpeggios, etc) as I believe this greatly improves a student's understanding and helps them reach a much higher level in the repertoire they are working on. I believe there is no "cookie cutter" method to teaching so I tailor my lessons specifically to each of my students. I have found that having a strong foundation in classical music sets the tone for musical excellence for all styles, regardless of age or musical maturity. From that perspective I like to start all of my students on The Arban's and Herbert L. Clarke Method books for trumpet. I am a dedicated and determined voice teacher, with a passion rooted in the desire to develop a healthy vocal technique. In 2022, I graduated with my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Binghamton University. Over the past ten years, I have spent time performing on stage in concerts, operas, and musical theatre.
