I taught at the Boston Conservatory extension program when it existed. I went to japan and saw Suzuki as part of my training for teaching the Suzuki method. I belong to ASTA and SAA , SMS and AFM I've had students playing in the suzuki festivals. Students I've taught are now having excellent careers as professional musicians. I love to coach my students in chamber music. Several of my students have played in some excellent youth orchestras I have been giving lessons for almost 4 decades. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar
Throughout the years I have discovered artists who capture my attention and infused their playing into my own to create a very broad and varied musical style. In addition to writing and performing my own material, I have also worked in ensembles and backing bands that played genres such as blues, rock, jazz, metal, funk, pop, country, reggae, hip-hop, and more. Graduating from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2013, I received my BA in Music Performance with a focus in jazz guitar. Read More

I am a big proponent of a hands-on learning approach that relies heavily on musical interaction and performance preparation. The best way to improve as a musician is to play, so I try to pinpoint what the student is interested in playing and focus our attention toward that, all while developing foundational music skills such as rhythm, sight reading, theory, ear training, and harmony. I like to start my students on a series of warm-ups and technical exercises that I've found to be essential in developing good technique for students of all abilities and experience levels, and eventually work up to playing repertoire that will strengthen their fundamentals and fulfil their musical interests. As a teenager I began teaching young kids very introductory acoustic guitar methods. Later on in college, my music curriculum mandated teaching lessons on the primary instrument while receiving feedback from faculty and attending teaching workshops. I have participated in master classes with Eliot Fisk and Roland Dyens, and have attended master classes with world-famous flamenco, jazz, fusion, and classical guitar players. Currently I participate in the University of Rhode Guitar Ensemble and regularly perform and assist new members. Read More

Teaching and Performing Music in my passion in life. We all know that everyone is unique and therefore their learning strategies are different. From my perspective, a good teacher is the one that above being kind, caring, and extremely patient should be very encouraging. Nothing is more important than having fun and enjoying playing and performing during music lessons. I want the best for my students and I am willing to take the time to teach them the fundamentals of playing the flute such as breath control, flute techniques, beautiful sound, etc. Read More
Instruments: Piano
For beginners, especially young kids, I would like to focus more on the gestures and basic theory which serves your score reading. For intermediate students, I would teach a bit more in-depth theory to correspond the levels of playing, as well as memorising pieces. For advanced students, a more professional training such as advanced theory, college-level basic sight reading and singing, and relatively difficult repertoire will be given. All students will be asked to practice idioms, Hanon and Hutcheson. Read More
Instruments: Voice
The first half of a typical voice lesson is spent on vocal warm-ups and vocalises. These consist of scales, arpeggios, vowel unification, breath work, etc. and have been accumulated from many teachers over a variety of traditions. Vocalises are the most important part of a solid vocal technique. The second half of lessons is spent working on repertoire either brought in by the student or assigned by myself. Concepts from vocal warm ups will be applied to repertoire, and students are expected to practice on a regular basis outside of lessons. Read More
