Dean's List, Berklee College of Music
Music has been the greatest life experience that I have encountered. I am eager to share with my students what joy playing music can bring and how a good practice regimen on their instrument can translate into success in their chosen career field. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a Professional diploma in Professional Music, with concentrations in Performance and Composition/Arranging. I have been continuously working as a sideman and composer throughout New England and New York City for the past three years.
I began teaching privately in high school at the age of 16, what started as one weekly lesson quickly became several; over that time I developed a strong passion for teaching. Watching a student's talent grow is extremely rewarding to me. Over the past 7 years I have taken my knowledge gained through my own studies and adapted them to my lessons. The best part for me as a teacher is having a student take the tools that I have given them, and create their own voice as a musician and artist.
My personal pedagogy is a combination of the basic technical and theoretical aspects of the instrument and what music the student is interested in. It is paramount that students of all levels are learning their instrument through performing their favorite music. All necessary technical exercises can be adapted to a specific genre of music. My lessons are structured around an appropriate, often small, amount of music theory. We can then play some of the student's favorite music that incorporates that lesson. I have many resources and a vast library of literature available for my lessons that I have compiled through my years at Berklee studying with the world's greatest bassists and theorists.
My main goal in every lesson is to be as time efficient as possible. We start with introducing new warm up exercises or new approaches to playing the instrument with confidence and facility. This is important for students of all levels so we can learn the correct ways to execute our favorite music in the most efficient way possible. From there I always spend the most time on the student's goals, like learning a new song or perhaps theory and improvisation. My biggest focus is on the student. Music, and all art for that matter, is an amazing privilege, it is meant to be enjoyed. My favorite part of a lesson is the joy on a student's face when we have successfully completed one of their favorite songs.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
