Developing those skills early in musical development predisposes a student to succeed. When the student shows a clear understanding of such concepts, focus will be shifted toward broader topics such as alternative practicing techniques, reed working, technical knowledge of the clarinet, and a comprehensive study of the standard repertoire, as a supplement to each student's individually chosen repertoire. Each student is unique. They require their own method and pace of training. My hope is to help the student reach their goals while still enjoying their time practicing for it. The routine that works best for the student will prove itself over time depending on the student. It may be to work one way for one student but not so much for another student. I have played cello since age 4 and piano since age 7. I holds a B.M. in cello performance and composition from Ithaca College, as well as a Masters in cello performance from Boston University. Currently earning a Performance Studies Certificate in Contemporary Classical Music from Boston Conservatory under Rhonda Rider, I perform with the contemporary ensemble there, as well as freelance performing in the greater Boston area.
