Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Like stated in my methods, I strive to provide the best lesson experience for each student. There is a certain ratio of theory to songs that must be achieved and it is different for every student . By teaching the student songs that they want to play we achieve the fun part required for any students success on their instrument. Regarding my methodology, I always adapt my classical vocal technique to the needs and the musical tastes of the students. My main goal is to help students achieving their goals, whatever they are! For beginning students who are children, I typically start with easy technical exercises. I have been teaching music for nearly 20 years. I am the after school music teacher for the Norwood School District. My primary goal is to make sure students are having fun and enjoying themselves during lessons. I have a laid-back disposition. My Master’s Degree -Flute Performance is from The University of Michigan where I studied with Leone Buyse as a full scholarship student. While in Michigan, I had a large studio of private students in many local high schools. I taught at college music preparatories and privately while in Cleveland, Ohio where I studied with piccoloist William Hebert at Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music, also under scholarship. My Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance was achieved at The Peabody Institute of Music where I studied with Mark Sparks. Some of my international experience includes performing as a concerto soloist, recitals, orchestral musician and teaching master classes in China, Central and South America, Europe, Mexico and the USA.
