For beginning students that are children, I like to start with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements or any other book that has the basic principles of music in them. Once the student has progressed and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, I will bring in other repertoire appropriate to their level. When starting with a young beginner student, I typically start with the beginning Suzuki Method books or Essential Elements books. I will also work on school repertoire if applicable. Once they have advanced past the level of the Suzuki books, I will begin to introduce solo works appropriate for their level and desire. Additionally, I have taken master classes with principal flutists of the majority of the orchestras worldwide, as well as with the renown flutist Sir James Galway. My experience ranges from performing in Carnegie Hall to giving concerts throughout Europe, The Caribbean, Central South America, Mexico, Asia and in the US.
