As a clarinet instructor, I always strive for bringing a wide variety of different artistic, technical and clarinet related aspects into my teachings. I find it crucial to be able to identify a certain students strengths or weaknesses. When us, teachers, do that, we are not only helping an individual student, we also expand our capacity as artists; we learn new ways to fix certain problems in ones playing. For the youngest beginners, my focus is on the enjoyment of music. Using either The Music Tree or My First Piano Adventures, I teach children about the elements of music and how to appreciate music, before going into actual technical work on the piano. I primarily teach with The Music Tree (Frances Clark's method) and supplement with pieces from other method books, and prepare children for recitals and performances in the future. Read More

For most students, I use the Rubank Method books as a foundation for basic fundamentals of the instrument. I use Jamey Aebersold's books as a foundation for jazz and popular music when students are ready. After that, I like giving my students individual work that is tailored to their needs like solos, jazz tunes, and more. I then lived in France and worked as an English teacher in three elementary schools. From there I moved to Cardiff, United Kingdom where I completed my Masters degree in Music Cello Performance.
