My method of teaching can vary from student to student, but my primary way of teaching is what I like to call, sound before symbol. Learning music is like learning a language. We do not come out of the womb and handed a dictionary. Instead, we listen, imitate, speak, and then learn how to read and write. For beginners, they must learn how to play the instrument. So books like standard of excellence or essential elements are great resources. I will guide them through what the book cannot explain and help them truly internalize aspects of playing their instrument. For more advanced players, we will work on tone, advanced technique, new styles as well as history, modern practices and more. I began teaching in 2001. I teach voice, piano, and didgeridoo. I have performed at multiple locations locally including the Broward Performing Arts Center and the Lincoln theater. I have taught college Theory classes and Music Appreciation classes and have my MA in music history and literature. I belong to local teaching associations and students have the opportunity to perform for local things like the Guild and Festival as well as compete in local and state competitions. Read More

I started Piano lessons at 6 and quickly received classical training to 12 years old. I have been playing professionally since 14 years old. I have enjoyed a freelance career as a music teacher, composer. performer, recording engineer. producer, and a multi instrumentalist. While being exposed to the intricacies of many styles of music growing up, I have developed a life long passion for studying those different genres. Both my mother and grandmother were pianists and teachers.
