Teaching piano is my passion. I have my AA degree in Music Education with an emphasis in creative performance and also have my bachelors degree in Music Education. I have served as chairman of the National Guild of Piano and I currently have a studio of 30 students. When I'm not teaching, I play at North Hialeah Baptist Church in Hialeah, and play in my band, "Sunset Worship". I love giving 2- 4 recitals throughout the year and love performing with my students. As a bass teacher, I like to identify what the student needs to improve on and find the way to get them to have that "aha moment", whenthey figure out that they can play anything as difficult as it may be with the right guidance and the right tools when practicing. We will also learn the language of the style(s) that the student wants to learn through reverse engineering or transcribing which also improves their musical ears. Read More

I believe my overall style in teaching music comes from my love of music and desire to help others achieve their musical goals in a way that is engaging, meaningful and fun. I have always believed in adding an element of fun to lessons. My band and choir students played games, performed for younger students in surprise concerts and had karaoke parties. During my time at FIU I was a Teaching Assistant with the FIU Marching Band. There I assisted in the direction and teaching of the marching band students, and attended all performances. For the past 5 years or so I have been teaching private saxophone students as well. My experience with saxophone consists of classical pedagogy. My initial lessons for all ages and levels begin with discussing expectations, motivations, and past experiences with music. Lessons should feel engaging fun, and productive. New players will learn fun ways to read music, feet positions, and hand exercises. Once a foundation is established, we'll learn more advanced skills and solo material. Beginners and intermediate players will always encounter scales and etudes as well as solo material just challenging enough to learn something new and fun enough they'll practice until they rock it.
