My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 15 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical, gospel, christian, jazz and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I am a very passionate musician, with a love for passing on the gift of music. I graduated from Shepherd University in 2012 with a BA in Voice Performance. I then went on to complete an MM and GPD in Opera from The Longy School of Music of Bard College. During my degree programs, I was able to study and sing around the world with many leading performers and teachers. I have been teaching for over ten years, and it brings me so much joy to be able to help my students find their musical voice. I motivate my students by being interactive. With children who are new to music, I use my personal method, which is characterized by providing knowledge while playing interactive games, which helps the children grasp music-related issues. With the older students, I try to inspire them by playing duets, accompanying them, and placing emphasis on a variety of repertoire. Some of them might even perform on the stage in the small recitals prepared by myself every year. Read More

I began teaching guitar in 2002 while still attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. That's when I found my true calling in life and I have now taught hundreds of students. Several of my former students have even gone on to obtain part-time and full-time music careers. I've also helped several of my students with college auditions so that they too can become musicians, like me. Music is a way of life for me and I can't think of anything more rewarding. Read More
