When I left Berklee to study with John Mehegan I played in local blues bands but didn't work much. I heard that playing in so called society bands payed much better and the work was mor frequent. I did that for years. I played with an Elvis impersonator and got tons of work. The most lucrative thing was composing and writing radio and TV commercials for local banks and businesses, I even had a chance to arrange a jingle for Sunkist orange soda, as you probably know the Beach Boys got the job. I have been in love with music for as long as I can remember! Growing up under the impression of my father, who was always involved in playing instruments and singing from a young age, you could say that it is in my DNA. From 2003-2011, nearly my entire primary school education, I was trained in music theory, music performance in orchestra and voice, and singing for the stage. Over the years I have accumulated various awards and recognition including Superior ratings in sight reading on double bass, outstanding vocal performance from the Miami Conservatory of Music, and performing alongside the county's best in the Miami Dade Honor's Orchestra. For beginners I usually start with a simple melody or riff. I love teaching Painting Black by The Rolling Stones because it is simple to play. Not only that, but it's a song that's easy to identify for most people's ear. I usually take my time allowing the student to learn. One or a few hours are enough to start learning the song. Once I leave, the student's homework is practice as often as possible in order to get some fluency on the instrument. Read More

For beginning students I make sure we know every warm up exercise and stretching exercises for the fingers after explaining the importance of rehearsing properly. We will start getting familiarized with a couple circles until the student fluently knows how to accompany every chord. After we are going to learn scales so they also familiarized with licks and comp.
