Overview:
I have been in love with music for as long as I can remember! Growing up under the impression of my father, who was always involved in playing instruments and singing from a young age, you could say that it is in my DNA. From 2003-2011, nearly my entire primary school education, I was trained in music theory, music performance in orchestra and voice, and singing for the stage. Over the years I have accumulated various awards and recognition including Superior ratings in sight reading on double bass, outstanding vocal performance from the Miami Conservatory of Music, and performing alongside the county's best in the Miami Dade Honor's Orchestra. You can expect to learn quality techniques with a fun and modern twist when taking lessons with me!
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience began in the school year of 2011-2012 when I had the pleasure of an apprenticeship with a locally renowned Music Director at E.W.F. Stirrup Elementary. This was where my passion for teaching music flourished. Under Director Sherker's wing, we taught and directed the elementary school string orchestra and chorus programs. From then on I knew that my talent and studies were meant to be spread through my own teachings. Throughout the years I have been a Private Vocal Instructor for various local clients of all ages and backgrounds, worked as a Vocal Instructor at Ray's Guitars N Gear, and am still studying music, myself! I've found that fun and positive attitudes combined with classical techniques and modern music can help the students feel at ease and excited to learn new content. My students are always encouraged to be their best selves and even go the extra mile by entering recitals or competitions, as well as composing their own material.
METHODS USED
For beginning students, whether they are children or adults, I typically start with an introduction to main vocabulary words that will be used often during classes and a lesson in diaphragmatic breathing for singing. My classes are always tailored to each individual student, so on day one I like to spend a few minutes allowing my students to open up and tell me about their personal music goals, what drives their passion, who they look up to vocally, and what styles they would be most interested to hone in on. In order for younger students to learn classical music, basic theory and singing techniques, I use resources such as coloring pages, word searches, and games that keep students engaged in a fun learning process. As well as practical and safe application of the voice. Many of the singing techniques that I pass onto my students come from similar instructions you would receive at notable schools such as Berklee College of Music.
LESSON STYLE
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop a passion for music, and seeing their confidence grow as they progress. Therefore, it is important that each student learns at his or her own pace. There is no need to over-exhaust them with tasks but I do encourage individual growth and development by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments big or small helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students more eager to learn. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs for an optimal learning experience.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
