Overview:
I have been in love with music ever since I was a kid. I got my first guitar when I was about 14 years old. I'm a self taught guitarist and love/need to play guitar every day to feel good. I can play any style of music, however, I have focused on rock music since I love guitar riffs and the satisfaction I get from playing fast. If you want to learn the basics or the advanced stuff you're struggling to play on your guitar I might be able to help you. If you're interested on taking a class with me or have any questions feel free to ask me. Thank you !
EXPERIENCE
My experience goes back all the way to middle school. The first time I saw somebody playing a guitar I was surprised. I couldn't believe the melody that came out of it, and just how good it seemed the person playing was feeling. At the time I was about 11 years of age, when my mom bought my first guitar. I started playing very basic songs. Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones was the first song I learned, and I can remember like it was yesterday how hard it was for me to get used to carrying the guitar and the feeling of the strings in my fingers. Since then I became more constant. I'm always trying to learn something new and incorporate it into my music.
METHODS USED
For beginners I usually start with a simple melody or riff. I love teaching Painting Black by The Rolling Stones because it is simple to play. Not only that, but it's a song that's easy to identify for most people's ear. I usually take my time allowing the student to learn. One or a few hours are enough to start learning the song. Once I leave, the student's homework is practice as often as possible in order to get some fluency on the instrument. Eventually we'll cover more complex music piece and guitar solos once the students develop their skills.
LESSON STYLE
Being a self taught musician I know how patience is needed when you're learning to play any music instrument. I like teaching students at their own speed. I won't try to get ahead if I see the student is struggling to learn. I like making sure my students learn but most importantly remember what has been taught during the lessons. I don't like overwhelming you with lots of information specially if you're too new in the field. By own experience wanting to learn to much at the same time usually turns out in playing music pieces incorrectly.

I hired Andres after meeting him at Sam Hash. He taught me what I wanted to learn and made it fun. Thanks to him now I know how to play harmonics on my electric guitar. Thank Andres!
