I started teaching 9 years ago. I really enjoy, and love seeing the progress with my students. Having fun is key. Learning to play an instrument or singing tends to quickly evolve as the students catches interest. Approaching the lessons from a natural and easy to understand method results into a second nature and a more excelling learning approach. I started out teaching beginning elementary students which sharpened up my skills for basic knowledge of the saxophone. As time progressed I started to teach intermediate student so that they can develop the tone and basic technique. My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. I tend to be very patient with students and understand that if they are not enjoying the lesson they will not learn or practice as much as they should. I try to get my students playing music quickly, once they are playing and not just practicing it becomes fun.
