I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. Its name is "El Sistema" and it is a nonprofit organization funded by the Venezuelan government. It has more than 300,000 students and it keeps on growing up despite the crisis in Venezuela.
