I push my students to practice daily for at least an hour and I give specific vocalizations that will help strengthen particular weaknesses in each voice. Teaching piano is my passion. I have my AA degree in Music Education with an emphasis in creative performance and also have my bachelors degree in Music Education. I have served as chairman of the National Guild of Piano and I currently have a studio of 30 students. When I'm not teaching, I play at North Hialeah Baptist Church in Hialeah, and play in my band, "Sunset Worship". I love giving 2- 4 recitals throughout the year and love performing with my students. I'm always encouraging and pushing my students to practice more on a daily basis and make them aware that practice and going over the lessons over and over makes them better every day. I'm always also pushing and motivating them to learn more and practice more. The more they practice each lesson the better they become and the more they would have control of the instrument. I was the only student that managed to be accepted with a scholarship without previously owning a Bachelor Degree, mostly due to my portfolio and to my previous experience as a musician. Seeing my students develop a passion for music is very rewarding. Each student progresses to their own pace; no rush whatsoever. Setting goals that they can achieve will encourage them to progress on track. Acknowledging their accomplishments will keep their desire to continue learning more.
