With compassion and engagement, I seek to share my love of music with others. A violinist since age six, I initially majored in violin performance and later music education at Wichita State University, where I performed in the Wichita State University Symphony Orchestra. Highlights from my time here include performing with the band Kansas and with the St. Petersburg String Quartet at Carnegie Hall. I have been singing and writing music since I was 12 years old , so of the greatest entertainers inspired me Michael Jackson, the Jackson 5, all the Motown greats, the temptations, Prince when I saw them perform I know music was going to be a part of my life. I am an honest and reliable music professional who loves classical music, folk songs, and musical theater. I participated in a youth musical theater company for nine years in my youth. I performed with a traveling show choir for five years at dozens of public festivals and events and we even performed at Disney! I advanced into several All State honor choirs throughout grade school. I have been playing flute for 16 years. I love sharing my knowledge to those who want to become a better musician. I received my Associates of the Arts degree in 2017 and continuing to double major in Flute performance and Music Therapy. I have had the opportunity to participate in great orchestras such as Broward Symphony Orchestra and New World School of the Arts Orchestra. I started teaching shortly after getting my Diploma from the National Guild of Piano. I started teaching part-time in college and eventually started teaching full time once I had finished. I teach all levels and all ages but I love teaching the little ones. I use a lot of games in my teaching to make piano learning fun. In 2003 I was awarded a scholarship to continue my studies at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. I hold a B.A. in Music from the University of Hartford. Istudied Guitar at The Hartt School of Music with Richard Provost, Chamber Guitar Music with Alan Spriestersbach and Christopher Ladd. I have performed throughout the Northeastern United States, including performances at The Hartt School, and at events such as The Connecticut Guitar Societys Guitar Extravaganza Weekend 2005.
