Music has always been a part of my life. I became involved in music, theater and dance at a young age, performing in countless professional productions. In my teens and early adulthood, I began writing and recording music and became involved in a number of recording projects that led me to teaching. I gave my first lesson over a decade ago and I continue to perform when I can. For each assignment I write a goal and tips on how to practice for that goal so that the student always has something to refer to in their times of need. I do not require students to keep a practice log because I feel that requiring a certain amount of practice a week is a negative way of doing things. I first began teaching during my undergraduate program and have since taught in many different settings and for many different strings instruments. As an orchestra director of a grade and middle school, I was responsible for creating an appropriate string curriculum for my students and I was directly responsible for teaching beginning strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass) through Grade 3 difficulty.
