For 3-5 year olds on piano I use Wunderkeys and supplement with Bastien Music Tree and music I have written when note reading is introduced. Usually I continue into Faber and Faber but Wunderkeys is adding more method books for beginners 5+ and I may start using that once it is available for purchase. For children with a strong attention span, I focus on developing the basics, such as bow hold, sound production, and listening. Depending on the student's ability to hold the bow, I may allow them to grab the bow if the are struggling with the proper bow hold until they are more comfortable holding it; this also applies to adults.
