I was Prinicipal of the 2nd Violin section as well as member of the 1st violin section. I received my bachelor's with an emphasis in muisc education. After completing my undergrad, I was accepted to the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University of Long Beach on scholoarhip. I am currenlty studying under Andrea Byers. In addition, I coach a youth symphony and am a freelance musician.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for six years privately and teach a youth orchestra. I have taught students from the ages of 4-adult. My students hold a busy schedule with violin recitals and are also given the opportunity to participate in master classes. In addition, they are involved in their school orchestras and are members of the Titan Youth Symphony of CSUF.
METHODS USED
My teaching method books involve All for Strings and Suzuki books. Suzuki books are categorized from level 1-10, level 8-10 is the equivalent of college level reportoire. I currently have students on level 1-8. In addition, I also look for individual method books and outside reportoire of Suzuki once the sudent is ready to move at a faster pace or in need of additional help. Finally, I also include basic music theory in lessons.
LESSON STYLE
Every student learns on a different learning curve. My general teaching style includes a balance of technique and musicality. I asks students to keep a notebook where I break up the materials for them to practice for efficiently. I also look for other materials. if the student moves at a faster or needs additional help. I have a general structure of teaching I used with all students and personalize lessons acoordingly.
