Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and this makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

Musically speaking, I don't believe in boundaries - I don't think musicians need to be categorized or put into little boxes that tells them what they can and can't do. I think people should be allowed to explore whatever voices they find true and beautiful - and feel free to add their own voice. I believe we should learn from anything and everything, because music provided a window into another human's soul - and I believe each soul has value. Read More

As a cello instructor, my students have been accepted into several top music programs including the University of North Texas, the University of Houston, Texas Tech University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Several have gone on to become teachers themselves. I have taught students of all age levels and experience, from beginners both young and old, to conservatory level; from basic setup and posture, to advanced left hand and bowing technique. Read More

I began professionally teaching violin over 8 years ago. I started with a few of my own private, and eventually began teaching in different music academies and schools. Before I moved to Los Angeles, I had over 25 violin students weekly! I like to keep my studio fun and exciting for everyone involved. Students are encouraged to learn the basics so they can play any type of music they want in the future. Read More

For beginning students, i like to start with the Essential Elements method book. The pieces in this method book are good for beginners because they are short and simple. For more advanced students, I like to delve into the Suzuki method books and then into more advanced solo repertoire from there. However, each student is different, so each student's lesson may look different. I also like to see what pieces or scales the student is interested in learning and incorporate that into the lesson plan. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Music
For beginning students who are children, I have a wide range of method books such as Alfred's Basic Piano, Bastien Piano basic Method and/or John Thompson's piano course. When my student started to understand the basics of the instrument, we begin to create their repertoire with the songs they are interested in and suitable for their level. For my adult students, I try to find out what they are interested in and guide my teaching accordingly to make lessons exciting and fun, regarding their skill level. Read More

For stringed instruments, I uses the Suzuki method for teaching the basic repertory of the instruments. This method is an ear training method in which the student plays by ear. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. For learning to read music I use one of the method books like "A Tune a day" or Strictly Strings which teach the fundamentals of read music and music theory. Read More
