I love teaching students privately one on one. My youngest student was 4; a Piano student. She was from a Russian family and didn’t speak a word of English. Teaching her was a joint effort between myself and the girl’s mother who did speak English; a very interesting experience. My oldest student was 86; a Guitar student. If the students are just interested in one specific thing then we focus on that. Read More

I teach to the student's wants, desires, abilities, time and goals. I understand that some people want to just download chords of their favorite classic rock songs from the internet, and play them as quickly as possible, without learning to read and write music. Another student is interested in studying music theory, classical music's greatest hits, and how to read and write music. Obviously, it would be absurd to try to teach these two students with the same method. Read More

I take joy in using my musical learning endeavors and experiences to educate my students. we start by finding out their desired path, past experiences, current influences, and use these things to map out a plan. From the plan we determine what we'll be learning. Some things may or may not be core or necessary to thier path of learning what they'd like to learn. Read More
