Andy has recorded records for various bands and three independent film soundtracks in addition to playing for our troops on a USO tour. At California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Andy studied classical and world percussion. I was born in Marshall, Texas. I received my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Fine Arts in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. I've spent seven years in public schools in the surrounding Houston area before coming on to teach with KIPP Houston Public Schools in 2012. I do my best to break it balanced; however, I strive to make the environment as fun and warm and welcoming as they would like. I pride myself on leaving every child eager to learn more! As a drummer that has played in all kinds of styles and venues, I can teach any skill level from the first time picking up sticks to making good drummers great and great drummers legendary. Using my experience as a school band director (4 years), I am also able to teach concert band instruments (trumpet, flute, trombone, etc.) as well as Jazz ensemble instruments (drum set, electric bass).
