I attended college at Houston Baptist University where I received a full scholarship to study music. Once I graduated I was immediately hired to do a national tour which was followed by 5 others. For beginning students (regardless of age instrument) I try to simplify the approach and work on a set of warm ups/exercises coupled with a performance piece or song that they can feel good about and lots of fun listening assignments. From there I have a few options of instruction methods that I tailor to the individual student.
