Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Using the techniques modeled from the International Voices of Mix, an assessment is taking on the syllable Ahh, on either a 5 tone scale or 8 tone. This is done to listen for various breaks in voice. Once this is discovered different different vocal exercises are then orchestrated to begin the process of strengthening the less stronger parts of the voice. I teach in a firm, thorough style, and prefer to emphasize the importance of basic body position and movements through both technical exercises and the repertoire of piano pieces. Reading music is another ability I believe is essential and I always teach this skill to students of any age. Read More

For students I ask that you have printed lyrics and instrumentals for our lessons. Microphones can be used in lessons as well. Equipment*** - Large mirror (for practicing in front of)- microphone – sound system to play instrumentals. I specifically love working on stage presence, I feel this area tends to be overlooked. Being able to sing a song extremely well is essential but being able to perform that song extremely well is a completely different task. Read More

I have been on stage from the age of 3 and have spent my life learning more and more about music. I participated in a musical every year in high school and even won 1st and 2nd division awards at our Solo and Ensemble Festival. From there I went to a community college to gain some life experience. While there I was part of a paid show choir that acted as an ambassador for the college. Read More

For beginning students I typically start by listening to them perform a sound that they feel shows their ability and work with them to determine a goal to further their progress. For singers, we begin by building a set of vocal warmups and exercises. For instrumentalists, we will being with an exercise book that is suited to their level. Overall, I try to maintain a balance of repertoire for my students that both challenges the expands their flexibility as well as inspires them to build their skills. Read More
