My favorite piano method book for children is the Bastien Piano Basics Series. Alternately, I sometimes use the Faber & Faber Piano Adventures. For very young children (3-6) "My First Piano Adventure," a Faber publication, is my book of choice. For adults, I usually use Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course, though sometimes I skip method books and play pieces picked by the student. My junior year culminated with a semester in New York City working in an administrative/artistic internship at the Metropolitan Opera. During school, and immediately upon graduating, I was fortunate enough to see my interest in music and theatre education realized in my work opportunities. I love to perform and I love to teach! As a performer, I am comfortable in opera, musical theater, recital, and concert settings. I have had the pleasure of performing with organizations like Opera Piccola, San Antonio Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin, the Theater Company of Fort Lee, Capitol Opera Richmond, and Classical Revolution RVA.
