For all of my students, I let them pick a song (vocal) or piece (violin) that they would like to sing or play. This way I can analyze what level they are on. For my voice students, I start with vocal warm-up exercises of the different vowels. It helps me to understand their range as well as tone of voice. For all my students, I use physiologically based training methods, when it comes to voice technique. After some time, I know your voice better to lead you to a legit yet powerful sound or work with you on genre-specific details. I have been teaching for 5 years, ever since of friend of mine asked for some lessons to help him get back to singing. I loved the direct connection to this very personal aspect of peoples' lives, and I felt humbled by the trust I was given.
