I began teaching voice in college both privately and in group settings. In addition, I directed and taught music for two theater productions. I enjoy helping each student reach their unique goals as an individual. I am trained as an opera singer and I specialize in classical/operatic and musical theater repertoire. Additionally, I am trained in music theory, ear training, Eurhythmics, acting, Alexander technique, vocal pedagogy, French, Italian, German, and Greek so I can offer insight on any of these topics. I try to develop short and long term goals with each of my students and/or their parents. I think it is very important to couple your knowledge of the instrument with a realistic trajectory of goals for the student so that they have something to focus on each lesson. I give short exercises as homework to refine the skills we learned during our lesson to be practiced for the week. Read More

I recognize that and feel that instruction tailored to a student's individual style will make for faster and more rewarding progress. Also, I feel that a positive environment that acknowledges accomplishments with positive reinforcement makes for a stable and fun learning environment.
