I've taught chamber music to teenagers in Indiana University's Summer String Academy and to adult learners in Montreal. For piano beginning students who are children I typically start with Alfred Piano Method books and for guitar students will start with Mel Bay Guitar Level I .I work in dual teaching techniques Theory and performance .Student has to be familiar with reading the music notes to be able to play them on the instrument .Once the student has progress to have a grasp of the fundamentals in music theory and performance I will begin preparing them for their recitals and later on competitions . For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I have over 15 years of teaching experience with students of all ages, from 3 year-olds to adults.  I am an upbeat and engaging teacher who focuses on proper form and technique, while maintaining the student's interest and encouraging creativity.  I teach a combination of Suzuki and traditional methods, catered to the needs of the individual. With Violin Students, I like to start with the Suzuki method, Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, as well as some basic 1 octave scales. The first book of Suzuki is taught mainly by ear, while in the background I am also teaching rhythm with the Essential Elements material. With production songwriting and guitar, I like to work on basic chord shapes, chord changes and basic music theory so the student can understand the concepts clearly. Read More

The main takeaway I want my students to walk away with after our lessons is that they enjoy playing the violin. I believe that encouragement and patience are huge parts of music education. However, I also like to push my students to take challenges and reach their highest potential. This is why I encourage students to play in recitals, choose pieces they want to learn, and work on a few works at a time (including etudes, scales, short pieces, concerti, etc.). Read More
