My private teaching career began in high school, where I was asked by the music teachers in my school district in Westchester, New York to assist in preparing middle- and elementary school students for local competitions and festivals (such as NYSSMA). During college, I was able to maintain a private studio and was fortunate enough to spend summers assistant teaching at music festivals. Above all, ensuring that the student enjoys what he or she is learning is paramount to me. I try to instill in every student the beauty and joy of playing the piano, and carry an appreciation of it throughout their life. I began piano when I was 6, and have never stopped performing. I have taken methods classes on teaching band and string instruments. I have specialization in teaching clarinet and voice, as I have taken specific pedagogy courses designed on the very detailed approaches of teaching these two crafts.
